jack nash: portfolio

The divide and interaction of men and women, including love, social dynamics, and heartbreak, underpin his work. Jack does have a particular process of working which is a statement usually drawn out and then executed. He intends to explore other techniques and materials such as combining print and paint techniques and finding a way to print on impossible surfaces.

He chooses techniques and materials that suit his style of working, the thought processes and the ideas that develop compliment the subject matter. The work made is a search for new values and beauty and the wish to capture Lolita fashion as well as innocence. “…a flutter of an eyelash…” as a take on the everyday passing of beautiful people in day-to-day life on the street, or in Nash’s words; “Mutual appreciation of beauty.” People do however always see what they want to see.

“As an artist, my main goal is to survive, thrive! and be appreciated, to reflect true feelings in my work as emotion is the most important thing about my art.” Nash has identified with the work of Liam O’Connor, Stella Vine, Cathy Lomax and Dora. He has referred to these artists in his work and aspires to be as appreciated and desired as them.
